Mary Saxon Wilburn, a retired professional nurse, now writes from a storehouse of experiences in her wide scope of residence and travel. She has established two writers clubs and is an active member of Sisters in Crime, Carrollton Creative Writers Club, and also of the Carrollton Civic Woman’s Club. As a public speaker, she has presented programs and workshops for various writers’ events. Her published work includes: The Cassie Ryder mystery series: Blood Kin and Blood Remembers; Chicken Soup for the African American Woman’s Soul: “Merry Christmas, Emma;” Chicken Soup for the Nurse’s Soul: “And the Angels Sang.” Many of the pieces in this book, Beachcomber’s Bounty, have appeared in local newspapers in various cities of her residence.
